Director's notes
I created this film while in recovery from chest-masculinization surgery. While it felt as though a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders I still found myself lacking a sense of being whole in my identity, as though through my gender identity I am a wasted opportunity and have had a wasted childhood. I channeled these frustrations to create this piece as an experimental assignment in a course at Pratt Institute. Please enjoy "The Dolorous Unbreaking of a Foal" found myself lacking a sense of being whole in my identity, as though through my gender identity I am a wasted opportunity and have had a wasted childhood.
