International Competition

The jury of the International Competition for the 4th edition will be made up of:
Alessandro Del Re - Co-artistic director of Lago Film Fest, senior Programming Manager for MUBI Italia;
Séverine Petit - Project manager for Green Film Lab of TorinoFilmLab;
Virgilio Villoresi - Videomaker, animator and master in the art of handcrafting films.

MAX3MIN Jury's Award

The international jury will choose the best five short films and award the winner a prize of € 3,000.


NEXT GEN

The jury of NEXT GEN section for the 4th edition will be made up of 3 members of Krakow Film Festival, a creative film event presenting documentary, short fiction and animated films from all around the world. It is one of the Oscar and EFA qualifying festivals in the short and feature-length documentary categories. The programme includes 4 competitive and several non-competitive sections. The festival is a meeting place for industry professionals who can participate in the KFF Industry. It lasts 8 days, presents about 200 films on 10 screens. The 65th edition will be held from 25 May to 1 June 2025.

MAX3MIN NEXT GEN Award

The international jury will award a technical prize useful for the student’s training, for the best short film - DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Vlog combo.

Alessandro Del Re

JURY - International Competition 2024

(Portogruaro - Italy, 1992) He is Senior Programming Manager for MUBI Italia and co-artistic director of Lago Film Fest and has worked for various international festivals as consultant and program advisor including Short Waves Festival, Pordenone Docs Fest and IsReal - Festival di Cinema del Reale. He has contributed to several publications on filmmakers such as Dario Argento, Paolo Benvenuti and Matías Piñeiro and founded, with Carlo Migotto and Viviana Carlet, a festival of medium-length documentary films, 30___70 DOC FEST, and a residency programme for filmmakers, Lago Film Residency.

Séverine Petit

JURY - International Competition 2024

Born in Corsica, France. She graduated in Diplomatic and Political Science and started working for the international grassroots organization Slow Food in Italy, specializing in development projects in Africa. She then focused on cinema, working for Italian production companies and selecting and programming films and documentaries for various festivals, such as Milano film Festival and Torino Film Festival’s documentary section TFF Doc. Séverine joined Torino Film Lab in 2021 with Green Film lab.  

 

Virgilio Villoresi

JURY - International Competition 2024

He was born November 10, 1980 in Fiesole (Florence,Italy). He learned alchemical synthesis from Harry Smith, structural ontology from Jonas Mekas, how to make art of garbage from Jack Smith, ritual magic from Kenneth Anger. His early inspirations include Poland animator [Jan Lenica, Zbigniew Rybczynski, Walerian Borowczyk, Daniel Schezcura, Jerzy Zitzmann] the European experimental cinema [Patrick Bokanowski, Chris Marker, Straub and Huillet], the American underground [Maya Deren, Stan Brakhage, Brothers Kuchar], the European avant-garde [Jean Cocteau, Luis Buñuel, Man Ray, Oskar Fischinger] Italian experimental [Paolo Gioli, Alberto Grifi] as well as avant-garde theatre, art and literature. He lives and works in Milan.

 

Barbara Orlicz-szcypula

JURY - NEXT GEN 2024

Organiser of film events, a specialist in film promotion, a university lecturer. President of the Board at the Krakow Film Foundation, a non-profit organisation whose main objective is the wide promotion of film art, the head of programming at the Krakow Film Festival, one of the most important festivals for documentary and short films in Poland. She runs the KFF Sales&Promotion agency which she established in 2005 to strengthen the international promotion of Polish documentary, animated and short films.  She served as a juror at many festivals, coordinated many projects connected to the film, she also runs lectures in the film department at the Krakow University.

Anna Waszczuk

JURY - NEXT GEN 2024

A graduate of the Cultural Studies and Romance Philology of the University in Lodz and Universita degli Studi di Milano. In the audiovisual sector since 2011. Experienced in film distribution and promotion. For many years worked as a festival distributor in the most important animation Studios in Poland. She is a short film programmer at the Krakow Film Festival and in the KFF Sales & Promotion she takes care of the shipping and promotional materials.

 

Marta Świętek

JURY - NEXT GEN 2024

Born 1985 in Częstochowa, graduate of Interfaculty Individual Studies in the Humanities - major: Spanish Philology at the Jagiellonian University and various postgraduate studies. In 2012, she joined the team of the Krakow Film Foundation. Since 2015, she coordinates the Polish Shorts and Polish Animations projects within the frame of which, she is responsible for the promotion and distribution of Polish films at international festivals. She is also responsible for organizing the KFF Video Library and KFF Industry events devoted to animation during the Krakow Film Festival.
