Synopsys

Things that don’t belong to me is a stop motion animation on the subject of how women’s/femmes bodies are used like material and objectified by others and the media for capitalistic purposes. Using mixed media of live action film and stop motion animation. Nature is used to illustrate the importance of reclaiming our bodies as something only to be used by us. The bodies are stitched together, reclaiming the idea of ‘craft’ and ‘women’s work’, ultimately reclaiming the feminine.

Director's notes
I regularly explore the idea of loss in my work, what it means and who it affects the most. With this film I wanted to look at home female and femme bodies are curated by society and capitalised. How our bodies are used to sell objects while also costing us more to own. Exploring through the film what would happen if we were able to reclaim the narrative of our bodies ourselves.
