On the island of Kanuai, in 1984 the last specimen of the now legendary ‘ō’ō bird sang its iconic song while the tape recorder of the English researcher Jim Jacobi captured every note. The vibrant testimony of this unique moment is transposed in Songbird, a synesthetic immersion into an ecosystem which now belongs only to the past.
