Director's notes
SANTA SOMBRA is a project that emerges from a diversity of emergencies. The urgency of addressing the problem of violence against femininities and trafficking; the urgency of working on gender fiction with a non-masculinized or sexualized look at the female characters; the urgency of creating fiction in Latin American animation from an adult, complex, critical perspective, which puts into discussion some of the problems that we face at the regional level; the urgency of creating icons that reflect our diverse, contradictory, multicultural identities.
