Biography
Anna Joos (b. 1991) is a Swedish/Swiss visual anthropologist combining social theory with filmmaking. She is currently enrolled at the Master Cinéma at ÉCAL – L'ÉCOLE CANTONALE D'ART DE LAUSANNE / HEAD – GENÈVE, HAUTE ÉCOLE D'ART ET DE DESIGN.
Director's notes
The film that is based on YouTube clips, shows the failed meeting between a Swedish white middle class and that of a racialised precarious one as this meeting is predicated upon an unequal relationship. As the film is based on found footage these images indicate which ideas are in circulation. It seems that these groups can only meet on the condition that the precarious, racialised class is willing to abide to the ideal image of the white onlooker.
