Synopsys

A short film following the secret life of a teenage girl with Hanahaki disease. It isn't until she starts coughing up entire flowers that she realizes she's in love with her best friend, Stella. "Petals" is a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, which can often be full of shame, confusion, and denial.

Director's notes
Petals is a story told through video, photos, text, and voiceover narration as the main character navigates her way through illness, love, and self-discovery.
This story is my take on the popular fictional trope of Hanahaki disease, in which the flowers themselves represent queerness. Overall, this film is a journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
