Name Mohamed Alemam
Country Libyan Arab Jamahiriya
Biography
I was born and raised in Tripoli, Libya, where my early exposure to visual storytelling came from my family's love for capturing moments on film. After moving to Montreal, my mother finally let me use our first video camera, and that's when my passion for filmmaking truly began.
Inspired by my high school science teacher, Mr. Gale, I created my first short film with friends, sparking a lifelong journey in filmmaking. I pursued a Video Production Diploma at Toronto Film School, where I honed my skills and expanded my creative horizons.
As a film director at GEET Productions in Tripoli since 2021, I've directed, edited, and produced over 50 projects across various industries, handling everything from creative writing to post-production. My work includes live debates, election campaigns, and commercial shoots.
Before GEET, I freelanced for agencies like Step, Hroof, Jeem, and Digix, showcasing my adaptability and creativity. My work has earned several awards, including the Golden Award at the Muse Creative Awards for my commercial ""Mother"" and the Best International Film at the Toronto Film School Festival for my short film ""The Craft.""
I've also shared my knowledge through workshops and courses, and my films have been featured at festivals like the Istanbul Fashion Film Festival and Fashion Film Festival Milano.
Fluent in English and Arabic, I bring a range of skills to every project, including directing, editing, creative writing, and production management. My journey in filmmaking is driven by a love for storytelling and creating meaningful visual narratives.

Director's notes
Filmmaking is my way of connecting with people and exploring human emotions. Starting in Tripoli and growing in Montreal, a simple video camera sparked my creative journey. From my first high school short film to my professional projects, I believe in the power of visual storytelling to evoke emotions and inspire change.
Collaboration is key to my process. Working with talented teams and embracing challenges excites me. While awards and recognition are rewarding, the real satisfaction comes from the impact my films have on audiences.
I strive to create meaningful narratives that leave a lasting impression, exploring diverse themes and capturing the essence of the human spirit. Filmmaking is my way of understanding the world and sharing that vision with others.
